Early Season Week #2

by Heronk » Sun Sep 16, 2012 7:23 am

After a week hunting north of here I returned to find very few birds and even fewer fields. Still I found some small groups of birds in some early sileage corn and got out with a buddy. One Shore Thing is still a deadly weapon!

So, what your are saying is the number of Shore Things used is proportional to the amount of geese taken. That's what I keep trying to telling the rest of the guys I hunt with. Hopefully, they will get there soon.

Great job again!

Heronk,
Another great photo! I really think that as the season goes on it works better with moire callers. One can't sound like two and two can't sound like three, but three can sound like a whole lot!!

Since we had to shoot from the standing corn, all of the shots were left to right crossing shots at 20 to 25 yards. Hard to bloody the undersides of the geese that way!
